Accounts, Plans & Free Trial
Some parts of Disclosure Navigator are open to everyone. Others require a free account. This page explains what's available where, how the 3-day trial works, and how AI billing fits in.
No Account Required
Two sections of the platform are fully public — no sign-in needed:
- SOURCES — Browse and read the full document library. Filter by source type, open individual documents, and see what's in the collection.
- MEDIA — Watch and explore the video archive, including documentary clips and researcher interviews.
You can spend a lot of time on those two pages without ever creating an account. They're a good place to get a feel for the depth of the library before signing up.
What a Free Account Unlocks
Creating a free account gives you access to the full research toolkit:
- SEARCH — Full-text and semantic search across the entire document library.
- BRIEFINGS — Ask the AI research questions and get sourced, structured answers drawn from the library.
- EXPLORER — Browse entity profiles for people, organizations, programs, and locations connected to the UAP record.
- TIMELINE — Explore the chronological event record, filter by source tier, and drill into specific incidents.
- GRAPH — Visualize how entities and cases connect in a 3D relationship map.
The 3-Day Free Trial
When you create a new account, you automatically get a 3-day free trial of premium features — no credit card required. During the trial you can generate AI Briefings, explore the full entity library, and try every tool on the platform. After the trial ends, free features remain available and your token balance determines access to AI.
Token-Based Billing for AI Features
AI Briefings are billed by tokens — small units of AI compute. You don't pay a flat monthly fee for AI access; you buy tokens and spend them as you go. Tokens never expire, so there's no pressure to use them by a deadline.
A standard briefing typically costs a few hundred tokens. Complex questions that pull from many sources cost a bit more. Following up on an existing briefing (branching) is more efficient and costs fewer tokens than starting a fresh question — see Branching: Follow-Up Research for details.
Your current token balance is always visible in the account area. You can buy additional tokens at any time from your account page using Stripe.
