Using the Relationship Graph

The Relationship Graph is a 3D interactive network visualization that maps how entities connect to one another across the disclosure record. It's the best tool for finding cross-case connections, identifying central figures, and exploring clusters of related entities that don't surface easily through search or linear browsing.

Loading a Case

Start by typing a case name into the search box in the left sidebar. As you type, matching cases appear below. Click a case to load it — the graph populates with all entities associated with that incident, connected by their documented relationships. You can add multiple cases to the same graph to find entities and connections that span more than one incident.

Node and Edge Colors

Node colors indicate entity type:

Edge colors indicate relationship category:

Navigating the Graph

Drag to pan the view. Right-click and drag to rotate in 3D. Scroll to zoom in and out. If you get lost, click the Reset Camera button to return to the default centered view.

Entity Detail Panel

Click any node to open the entity detail panel, which slides in from the right side of the screen. The panel shows the entity's profile summary and its direct relationships. A View Full Profile button at the bottom opens the complete entity profile page in the Explorer.

AI Analysis of Selected Nodes

You can select multiple nodes by clicking each one in turn. Once two or more nodes are selected, the Analyze with AI button becomes active. Click it to open a prompt box where you can type an optional question — or leave it blank for an open-ended analysis. The AI will synthesize the relationships and documented connections between your selected entities, drawing only from the library. This consumes tokens from your account balance.

FILTER Sidecar

Click the FILTER button in the top right to open the filter sidecar. Two controls are available:

Phase Filter

When a single case is loaded, a Phase Filter appears in the left sidebar. This lets you filter the graph by investigation thread — the sub-phases that make up the case's investigation history. Select a specific thread to see only the entities and relationships associated with that phase of the case.

Entity-Centric Mode

You don't have to start from a case. Type an entity name in the search box to load that entity's full first-degree network — every entity directly connected to it, with all their relationship edges. This is useful for researching a specific figure and quickly seeing their documented institutional connections and co-appearances in source material.

Tip: Layer two or three related cases together to find shared entities. Nodes that appear across multiple cases will be visible as connection points between the case clusters — these are often the most significant figures in the broader disclosure record.
